Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with expected first year total earnings between $60000 - $65000 / year including incentives and auto reimbursement. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview
The Payroll Specialist is responsible to provide accurate and timely payroll processing, legal filings, and reporting. The role ensures compliance with payroll laws and regulations, prepares and processes payroll-related information and calculates earnings, adjustments, retroactive payments, etc., and establishes and manages all payroll-related work procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
- Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
- Execute Kronos time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
- Perform compliances for unclaimed property payroll checks
- Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as necessary
- Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
- Process manual check and relocation metrics
- Update and reconcile monthly bank statements from the ADP software system
- Load import files received from Human Resources
- Research and email appropriate audience of file issues
- Process payroll. Collect, balance and verify information from divisions
- Prepare required divisional payroll reports weekly to ensure balancing of gross to net. Ensures that this report is provided to the locations weekly by the established deadlines for review before payroll processing
- Ensure all divisional payroll reconciliations are signed off by the Senior Payroll Administrator by the established deadlines
- Research and resolve payroll issues relating to their assigned division(s)
- Resolve internal and external customer issues by returning/acknowledging phone calls and emails promptly. Provide issue resolutions based on Service Level Agreements
- Assist in the maintenance of the garnishment process for tax levies and child support
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor s Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
