Overview

Responsible for directing all warehousing, distribution, and operations functions in a large distribution center or multiple smaller distribution centers in support of the company's strategic and annual growth plans.  This role will have direct local P&L responsibilities of assigned location(s) and will be expected to deliver high productivity and quality customer service with minimal expenses.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Set the overall strategy in multiple distribution centers; develop and implement specific short-term and long-term plans and programs in order to support the operational goals
  • Responsible for the P&L in all assigned locations; oversee the development of annual budgets to ensure facilities are executed to minimize expenses
  • Review performance against operating plans and standards; provide reports to direct reports on interpretation of results and provide direction to address issues
  • Proactively manage safety; immediately respond to any concerns and conduct proper follow-up to ensure the issue was addressed
  • Diagnose operations issues and assist managers in the development of solutions, action plans and communication to resolve those issues
  • Ensure that distribution centers are in compliance with all local, regional, and national laws and have all the required documentation
  • Coach and develop management in balancing the delivery of high productivity and quality customer service
  • Lead and facilitate change management in support of organizational goals
  • Counsel and direct management on handling of labor relations, staffing, disciplinary actions and a positive work environment
  • Direct planning of development of distribution center management team and monitor establishment of goals for their performance; monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback to distribution center managers on progress towards completion of goals
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions

  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56lbs
