Overview
The Inventory Analyst is a junior position responsible for cycle counting, measuring inventory levels by analyzing data, and researching discrepancies.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts, covering the entire warehouse portfolio quarterly
- Perform scheduled cycle counts by regularly counting designated inventory items in specific warehouse locations
- Assist in managing the Daily Reconciliation Report by identifying patterns of recurring inventory discrepancies
- Investigate, research, and document any discrepancies found between physical inventory and system records, including potential causes like receiving errors, picking mistakes, or damaged goods.
- Generate weekly and monthly Warehouse Audit and Inventory Accuracy reports
- Assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness; translate results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision-making; present findings to various levels of leadership
- Create, monitor, and maintain metrics and key performance indicators, identifying aged inventory
- Review data capture processes and procedures; recommend modifications to systems to ensure all relevant metrics data elements are collected as a part of defined standard operational procedures
- Audit and confirm the validity and accuracy of all data being reported data
- Provide cost/benefit analysis for various projects, as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUAILIFICATIONS
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
- Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and concepts, general ledger, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements
- Analytical and judgment skills necessary to evaluate, interpret and reconcile accounting data and operational metrics according to the company and departmental procedures
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills
- Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- Require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 50lbs
