General schedule for this role will be Tues-Fri, 12AM - 10AM

Overview

Responsible for scheduling and dispatching drivers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Route/dispatch truck routes daily
  • Coordinate driver's routes according to customer requests, geographic considerations and in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies
  • Notify drivers and warehouse supervision/management of schedules and assignments
  • Operate an automated routing computer system (e.g., RoadNet, MobileCast and Velociter/SEPODS software) and track schedules, changes in assignments/routes, and maintain follow-up information
  • Track and input driver mileage and hours within the recordkeeping system
  • Communicate with various locations/depots daily regarding shipping status and projected/confirmed deliveries
  • Partner with the sales force and customer assistance to resolve shipping/delivery discrepancies or concerns regarding product arrival status
  • Make decisions to resolve issues efficiently with the least disruption to the dispatched route and customer
  • Work with delivery managers and supervisors to plan daily delivery routes

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with customer service on updating existing account information and setting up new accounts.
  • Build and transmit next day’s routes in Roadnet software system
  • Prepare delivery reports and invoices for driver dispatch teams
  • Schedule and track local pickups from railyard and outside storage
  • Maintain and update Delivery and Warehouse reports
  • Assist with filing, checking, and tracking of Department of Transportation (DOT) paperwork
  • Assist with Will Call, Driver Check in, and Receiving tasks
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking and time management skills
  • Knowledge working with Geocoding software experience

  • Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 45lbs
