Overview

The goal of Customer Development is to be the indispensable trusted partner to our customers, driving alignment, and simplification across all three tiers. The National Account Sr Customer Development Manager will lead a vertical (assortment strategy/space process/project) at a Tier One Account and own impartial proposals/recs for Category/Shelf/Assortment. Expert in Syndicated Data; providing Insights & Analytics to our retail customers, suppliers and account teams by identifying opportunities and making recommendations that deliver category and customer growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contribute to team problem solving
  • Stay informed of analytic best practices across the industry and provide effective information for assigned commodities in the pursuit to deliver sales, margin, and market development goals
  • Monitor and analyze category, competition, and consumer market data to proactively identify business opportunities and develop actionable category insights in order to deliver category growth
  • Develop, communicate, execute, and monitor specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews (including the supplier's role in continuous improvement tied to product portfolio management, cost reductions, supply chain improvements, etc.)
  • Develop customer-specific insights & recommendations by reviewing analytics, turn insights into action and drive winning recommendations on assortment, shelving, and merchandising strategies
  • Operate as the single point of contact for customers, with an understanding of category strategies and overall business objectives, enabling on-going credible customer interaction
  • Responsible for planning and implementing category resets
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Coordinate Trade Development/RFP requests & information
  • Manage a small team of direct reports – own training and onboarding for those team members
  • Perform other job-related duties

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years of experience within CPG sector; BevAlc preferred
  • Expertise in syndicated data ((Nielsen/IRI), Internal Shipment Data, POS Data, Spectra, HH Panel, Numerator, & shopper/consumer insights and demonstrated experience with analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of Space Management processes and tools (JDA, Apollo, Space Automation)
  • Expertise in Customer Development / Category Management processes and practices along with the ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations within six key domains: Macro Level, Retailer & Market, Consumer, Shopper, 4 P’s and Operations
  • Excellent project management skills to effectively managing multiple projects/process improvement initiatives concurrently and achieving deliverables tied to business strategies
  • must have JDA/Blue Yonder experience
