Overview
The Senior Product Manager - Cart, Checkout and Commerce Platform plays a crucial role in building relationships and fostering trust among teams, customers, and stakeholders while leading the product vision and execution. By promoting a lean-agile mindset and a culture of learning, the Senior Product Manager defines and communicates the product strategy and roadmap to all stakeholders for Southern Glazer’s PROOF Commerce B2B Checkout Experience and Platform. Acting as the customer advocate, the Senior Product Manager translates user needs into development requirements and prioritizes feedback to enhance the product. As the subject matter expert, the Senior Product Manager oversees the product lifecycle, provides updates to teams and leadership, and ensures alignment with market standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Define, communicate, and champion the long-term product vision, strategy and roadmap for Cart, Checkout and Commerce Platform in alignment with Southern Glazer’s priorities.
- Manage multiple, complex products or new product builds across three or more teams within a workstream along with the product release schedule.
- Demonstrate customer-centricity by advocating user needs to the Product and Technical Product Managers and ensuring translation of needs into requirements for development.
- Oversee the product through its lifecycle, track product performance and related outcomes, and gather customer/client feedback to improve the product.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the lead and subject matter expert for the product, communicating product updates and performance metrics to applicable teams, leadership, and clients/customers.
- Collaborate with Initiative and Epic owners to develop business cases and gather data critical for new products and improvements. Champions the investments required to deliver vision.
- Analyze market and competition data to create/update product features that meet customer needs and align with market/industry standards.
- Ensure that the product features are compliant with requirements and/or restrictions.
- Evangelize business and technology trends that can improve the product’s business value.
- Create and manage against OKRs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Typically, 5 – 9 + years of experience in product management, technology, or related experience. This usually includes at least 1 year experience leading teams.
- Experience managing bottom-of-funnel eCommerce experiences, including cart, checkout, order confirmation and post-order flows, as well as familiarity with supporting backend platforms and systems.
- Experience working in B2B commerce environments preferred.
- Experience with the principles of design thinking and lean and agile software delivery.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management related to products is a plus.
- Background in at least three disciplines, such as business, technology, application development, or operations in a multi-tier environment
- Native-level proficiency/fluent in English.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced knowledge of functional and conceptual technical matters and agile development methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge of product management best practices, functional design, and application delivery methodology.
- Deep knowledge and experience of methods and practices for defining product(s) strategy, vision, and plan, driving continuous improvement, defining and operationalizing roadmaps.
- Deep knowledge of operating environments (e.g., Windows, UNIX and Linux when necessary) and technical components.
- Deep knowledge of principals: Project Management Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Scrum Master etc.
- Basic knowledge of design thinking, APIs and integration, agile methodologies, big data and UI/UX design.
- Leading skills with OKRs to effectively define, manage, and track products, continuously focusing on customer and business outcomes.
- Demonstrated business analysis skills to identify business needs and provide solutions to challenges.
- Demonstrated discovery and validation skills to identify valuable problems and validate proposed solutions.
- Proven ability to promote innovative ideas and accept the risks that are required to lead change.
- Ability to channel curiosity into ideas, plans and potential next steps across external or internal customer processes and problems.
- Ability to maintain a full product life cycle perspective, and work to balance short-term achievements with long-term goals.
- Ability to understand the most important product KPIs and manage the product effectively to meet performance goals.
- Ability to drive execution in the product line without becoming overly focused on micro deliverables.
