Overview
As the dependency on high quality data increases for internal users, customers, suppliers, and third-party partners, it is critical for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits (SGWS) to establish an appropriate level of governance around our data, processes, and systems. The Data COE is focused on driving data integrity by establishing data standards and accountability, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and implementing data quality monitoring and reporting. The Data Governance function orchestrates data governance across sites, regions, and functions to enable and maintain best-in-class data quality for all users (customers, suppliers, vendors, sales representatives, and 3rd party partners).
The Senior Product Analyst role requires a dynamic and detail-oriented thinker that will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, helping to define, analyze and refine requirements in an Agile environment. This role will work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to ensure that business objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
Primary Responsibilities
• Collaborate with stakeholders to document business requirements and translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Conduct proactive data analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities for improvement in data processes and data quality.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives, ensuring a continuous feedback loop between teams.
• Support Product Owner by prioritizing and maintaining the product backlog and contributing to the product roadmap in alignment with business goals.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Provide support for testing, validation, and user acceptance processes.
• Develop and maintain documentation and materials for standards and governance, data validation, data quality reporting, data flow diagrams, business processes, training, and change management.
• Assist in the refinement of data models/dictionaries/standards, ensuring they align with business needs and technical feasibility.
• Define, implement, track, and report on KPIs/metrics to monitor the effectiveness of data product initiatives, data quality improvements, and product impact.
• Report findings and work proactively with data governance, data stewards and business systems to propose methods of remediation.
• Mentor other analysts and contribute to the development of best practices within the Data CoE.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Contribute to management of central data stores and metadata to establish quality expectations.
- Identify opportunities to increase data quality, including automation and data entry procedural training.
- Monitor business perception of data quality.
- Follows and sometimes creates techniques for data collection, accuracy and management.
- Report findings and works proactively with data governance, data stewards, business systems to propose methods for remediation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT or related field.
- Typically, 3+ years of experience as a business analyst or related profession
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
