Overview
The Manager, Supply Chain Analytics & AI Transformation leads a team of five analytics and AI professionals responsible for delivering reliable reporting, actionable insights, automation, and AI-enabled solutions across the end-to-end supply chain.
This role sets priorities, establishes governance and quality standards, reviews solution design and outcomes, removes delivery barriers, and ensures the team’s work aligns with business objectives. The manager connects Supply Chain functions with Commercial, IT, Finance, and other partners to translate business needs into scalable and maintainable analytics and AI capabilities.
The successful candidate brings proven experience leading reporting and AI implementations and can provide clear examples of measurable process optimization, such as reducing manual effort, improving reporting cycle time, increasing data quality, simplifying workflows, strengthening controls, or accelerating decisions. The role requires technical credibility but is primarily accountable for leadership, portfolio management, governance, stakeholder alignment, and sustainable delivery rather than personally developing every solution.
Key areas of focus may include S&OP integration, network and inventory optimization, slow-moving inventory, replenishment, logistics, nationwide distribution, performance reporting, workflow automation, and responsible use of AI agents.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of five analytics and AI professionals; establish clear roles, goals, development plans, delivery expectations, and accountability for results.
- Own the SCM analytics, reporting, automation, and AI portfolio; evaluate requests, establish priorities, balance team capacity, manage dependencies, and communicate commitments and trade-offs.
- Translate supply chain and cross-functional business needs into clear problem statements, requirements, success measures, and delivery roadmaps.
- Provide leadership oversight for the design, implementation, adoption, maintenance, and enhancement of reporting, analytics, automation, AI/ML models, and intelligent agents.
- Review solution approaches, business logic, data sources, controls, testing evidence, documentation, and production readiness before deployment or material changes.
- Establish and enforce governance standards for data quality, metric definitions, access, security, responsible AI, model monitoring, change control, documentation, and ongoing ownership.
- Ensure reporting and AI solutions are accurate, timely, scalable, supportable, and aligned with enterprise architecture and technology standards.
- Monitor solution performance, adoption, and business value; direct corrective action, maintenance, retraining, enhancement, or retirement when solutions no longer meet business needs.
Additional Responsibilities
- Identify and sponsor process-optimization opportunities across Inventory, Forecasting, Sales, Logistics, Procurement, and Finance, using analytics, automation, and AI where they provide clear business value.
- Develop and present before-and-after examples of process improvement using measurable outcomes such as hours of manual effort removed, cycle-time reduction, fewer handoffs or errors, improved data quality, stronger controls, increased adoption, or faster decision-making.
- Partner with Supply Chain leaders and functional managers to define performance measures, interpret results, identify risks and opportunities, and support strategic decisions.
- Act as the primary liaison among Supply Chain, Commercial, IT, Finance, and other partner teams; align ownership, resolve dependencies, and reduce duplication across initiatives.
- Promote reusable data products, standardized reporting, common definitions, and repeatable delivery practices across markets, regions, and functions.
- Provide executives with concise, accurate, and decision-ready information regarding supply chain performance, initiative status, risks, benefits, and recommended actions.
- Manage multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining transparency regarding scope, schedules, risks, decisions, resource needs, and expected business value.
- Ensure the team follows applicable sourcing, purchasing, corporate, business-partner, data, security, and technology policies.
.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, data products, automation, or AI, including demonstrated leadership of people, projects, or a technical delivery team.
- Proven experience leading reporting and AI implementations from business need through adoption, governance, maintenance, and measurable value realization.
- Demonstrated success optimizing business processes. Candidates must be prepared to explain specific before-and-after examples, their leadership role, the approach used, stakeholder involvement, controls introduced, and measurable results.
- Experience managing and developing analytics, reporting, business intelligence, data science, automation, or AI professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize a portfolio of requests, allocate team capacity, manage competing deadlines, and communicate trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of reporting and visualization practices, metric governance, data quality, user adoption, and solution lifecycle management.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML and AI-agent lifecycles, including use-case selection, data readiness, validation, deployment, monitoring, risk management, maintenance, and responsible AI practices.
- Ability to review and challenge technical designs and analytical methods without serving as the primary developer for every deliverable.
- Experience with enterprise analytics and AI platforms such as Databricks, Tableau, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects, Azure OpenAI, Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, or comparable platforms.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Python, APIs, automation, data modeling, and cloud data platforms sufficient to guide the team, assess feasibility, review work, and communicate with technical partners.
- Advanced understanding of Excel, Power Query, Power Automate, SharePoint workflows, or comparable productivity and workflow tools.
- Supply chain experience in inventory, forecasting, replenishment, logistics, procurement, network planning, S&OP, or distribution is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication, executive presentation, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and change-leadership skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to documentation, controls, accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading analytics or AI work across multiple supply chain functions, markets, regions, or enterprise partner groups.
- Experience establishing reporting governance, responsible AI controls, intake and prioritization practices, or production-support standards.
- Experience quantifying business value from analytics, automation, reporting modernization, or AI implementation.
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
