Overview
Work with the import department management team to ensure that all payments (ACH, deferred tax, interest bills, etc.) are accurate and timely processed and transmitted to Customs and Border Protection as required by federal regulation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ability to handle large volume of import shipments
- Follow up with all import shipments as required by federal agencies
- Comply with established company and department policy and procedures
- Maintain duty calculation spreadsheets and entry/documentation check lists as required
- Ability to prioritize and manage time sensitive tasks
- Analyze, identify and provide solutions to day to day work related issues
- Maintain a good track record in keeping clearance errors to less than 2% per month
- Ability to work with a diverse team
- Assist team members as needed
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates degree or 2 years college education (preferred)
- ACE (QuesatWeb/Descartes software knowledge (preferred)
- 1-year professional experience working with various ocean and air carriers and freight forwarders / consolidators
- Knowledge and experience with FDA Prior Notice (preferred)
- Knowledge and experience filing ISF (preferred)
- Understanding of supply chain requirements, processes, and tracking of import shipments
- Microsoft Office proficiency required
- Strong attention to detail and high level of data accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must have effective interpersonal and customer service skills
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
