Overview
The Director, Workforce Operations & Legal Technology, is responsible for overseeing the technology portfolio and budgets (operational and project) across enterprise-wide talent management and legal functions. This role drives strategic alignment of technology initiatives with business goals in areas such as workforce management, contingent labor, timekeeping, contract lifecycle management, and enterprise content management. The Director leads a team of technology professionals focused on delivering scalable, secure, and innovative solutions using platforms like Fieldglass, UKG Dimensions, OpenText xECM, and DocuSign CLM.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- As the Product Owner over these product teams, develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy for talent management (focused on timekeeping and shared services) and legal domains aligned with enterprise objectives.
- Lead strategic planning and prioritization of technology initiatives to enhance workforce and legal operations.
- Provide vision and leadership for short-term execution and long-term innovation in talent and legal technologies.
Talent Management Technology
- Oversee implementation and optimization of Fieldglass for contingent workforce management and UKG Dimensions for timekeeping and scheduling across 25,000 employees.
- Collaborate with Shared Services, Legal, Operations, HR and field teams to ensure systems meet compliance, labor regulations, and operational efficiency.
- Drive integration of talent systems with payroll, finance, and analytics platforms.
Legal Technology Strategy
- Lead deployment and governance of OpenText xECM for on-premise document and records management.
- Manage DocuSign CLM for contract lifecycle automation, ensuring legal compliance and operational transparency.
- Partner with Legal, Procurement, and Compliance teams to streamline workflows and mitigate risk.
Portfolio & Budget Management
- Manage technology budgets and resource allocation across time management/talent and legal domains.
- Develop business cases and cost-benefit analyses for new initiatives and upgrades.
- Ensure alignment of technology investments with business priorities and ROI.
Team Development & Collaboration
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of technology professionals.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with HR, Legal, IT, and external vendors.
- Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure maximum uptime and performance of talent and legal systems.
- Direct disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical platforms.
- Monitor service levels and system performance to ensure user satisfaction and compliance.
Governance & Compliance
- Define and enforce policies and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating talent and legal technologies.
- Ensure systems adhere to data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, HR Technology, Legal Studies, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 10+ years in technology management with a focus on HR and/or legal systems.
- Leadership: Proven experience in team development, coaching, and strategic leadership through agile delivery.
- Technology Expertise: Deep understanding of SAP Fieldglass (as a talent marketplace), UKG Dimensions, OpenText xECM, and DocuSign CLM.
- Project Management: Strong background in Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Agile certification and proven delivery in agile preferred.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Business Acumen: Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions with measurable impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in HR Technology, Legal Informatics, or related field.
- Certifications in Project Management (PMI), Agile, or relevant platforms (e.g., UKG, DocuSign).
- Experience in regulated industries such as food & beverage, CPG, or distribution.
- Expertise in workforce analytics, contract lifecycle automation, and enterprise content management.
- Familiarity with ITIL, Six Sigma, and strategic dependency mapping.
- Proficiency in MS Suite, SAP integrations, and technical contract lifecycle management.
