Overview

The Procurement Business Analyst will help provide industry specific knowledge and direction in the development or business terms negotiation, management and administration of sourcing engagements and supplier relationships. Suppliers managed include IT development contractors as well as management consultants.  This individual will help manage procurement sourcing strategies for various IT related projects.  The Procurement Business Analyst must be able to understand and help business partners navigate and manage the purchasing process.  This role will analyze business contract issues compared to standard norms to identify and minimize or eliminate risks and optimize value for Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits.   This role requires the ability to work independently on both standard and non-standard engagements with low to medium levels of complexity and risk.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own and measure procurement and project priorities towards identified KPI’s
  • Leverage procurement knowledge and processes to drive assigned business projects on behalf of the organization
  • Support procurement projects across a variety of categories and complexity levels including innovation and technical focused projects
  • Support supplier negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions to drive cost savings and strengthen supplier relationships.
  • Collaborate with business teams to develop effective product messaging, positioning and communication strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements to provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Across projects, gain a comprehensive understanding of business requirements for prioritization, manage the end-to-end timeline for procurement activities, and stakeholder management within procurement function and business
  • Actively engage and participate with business partners in the development of requirements and sourcing and selection of Professional services suppliers.
  • Interface with Business Owners, ensure sourcing objectives align with key stakeholder expectations, and provide project status and analysis throughout the sourcing development phases.

Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Support RFP/RFI process, manage the analysis and evaluation of proposals and the development of appropriate recommendations using standard approved templates. 
  • Work with suppliers and internal business unit personnel to identify research and resolve Procurement related issues and to develop corrective action programs and monitor progress and identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with the Contract Management Team in the creation, negotiation and completion of Supplier Agreements.
  • Participates in cross-team negotiations and assists in the execution of the strategies.
  • Analyze and report on savings associated completed transactions and agreements. 
  • Keep current on technology trends, market/economic conditions and demand patterns in the assigned commodity areas presented from senior management.
  • Identify and develop alternate/additional supply sources, assess financial stability, quality performance, and capabilities of potential Suppliers.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years Procurement related experience, sourcing and contract negotiation
  • Knowledge of SAP and the ability to export data
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to make cognitive decisions
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook is required with the ability to perform vlookups and pivot table summaries
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, and presentation skills

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding a machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 40lbs
