Overview
The Manager of Commercial Strategy Effectiveness is tasked with overseeing and executing key strategic initiatives and business processes that support the Corporate senior leadership team. Collaborating closely with the Director(s) of Commercial Strategy Effectiveness, this role involves day-to-day project management across the complete range of Commercial Strategy Effectiveness priorities, including the SGWS “Go-to-Market” (GTM)—including route-to-market strategy implementation, commercial operations and structure alignment, sales compensation standards and cost-to-serve modeling.
This position also partners with Regional, Dedicated Division, and State teams to translate these priorities into actionable operational plans within the Company’s core business framework.
The Manager will also support the day-to-day operations of the SGWS Commercial “SWAT” team, which provides tailored project support to Region and State teams based on specific GTM requirements. This support may encompass direct project execution and/or strategic oversight and guidance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of a standardized Route-to-Market and Sales Compensation philosophy across states by collaborating with Regions and Dedicated Divisions, while allowing for market-specific nuances within established parameters.
- Continuously analyze and review opportunities, threats, strengths, and weaknesses that impact the growth of the company’s business.
- Cultivate strong interpersonal and presentation skills to maintain effective working relationships and communicate persuasively with stakeholders at all levels.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA preferred
- 3+ years of relevant experience (5+ preferred)
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills with a focus on Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with syndicated industry data (e.g. Nielsen) and data reporting systems such as Business Objects and Tableau is a plus.
- Able to obtain and meet industry licensing requirements as needed
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think critically and influence others
- Ability to travel domestically up to 30%
