Overview
The Manager of Commercial Planning Capabilities will report to the Director of Commercial Planning Capabilities and support the end-to-end planning process, relevant technical trainings, along with commercial application data management.
This role will work closely with additional planning and strategy departments to develop and enhance the companies planning vision. This includes, but is not limited to, Commercial Operations Effectiveness, Commercial Strategy Effectiveness, Commercial Planning Integration, Regional Commercial Planning and State Commercial Operation teams.
The role will require a deep understanding of how planning feeds into execution from a Commercial business process and technology standpoint.
This individual is expected to be a Commercial subject matter expert on the National, Regional and State process and implications of the tools.
The National and Regional teams will also join forces to continue to identify opportunities for improvement in current processes and execution and takes steps to drive better performance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support Director of Commercial Planning Capabilities along with Regional Commercial Planning Managers on all aspects of training and support
- Understand relevant Regional and State nuances when assisting in analyzing all national project requirements and requests. This includes but not limited to Trade Development, Sales and Finance user experience along with Sales Leadership and Commercial Operations output reporting needs.
- Assist the Director of Commercial Planning Capabilities as a liaison between the Commercial business and the technical CP teams to ensure technology process and business process integrate properly along with prioritizing key process impacting the commercial strategic plan.
- Support the Commercial Operations Effectiveness team on relevant content development and maintenance of the PACE Guide along with supporting ongoing management of how these processes integrate and are included in ongoing annual and program planning
- Support the tactical implementation of National Commercial planning processes, systems, and organizational development to build a robust sales and financial plan.
- Integrate Product Lifecycle Management, business strategy plans, and financial projections into the commercial planning process.
- Key point of contact with the Regional Commercial Planning Manager to facilitate the tactical requirements and needs
- Work closely with Corporate Commercial Effectiveness to leverage learnings and best practices within states to further shape and improve commercial planning processes company wide.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Trade Development, Commercial Operations and/or Commercial Sales role with exposure to supplier management and sales execution of planned programs is required.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience.
- Internal distributor market experience is preferred.
- Knowledge in commercial business planning, sales compensation planning, program management, and other relevant cross-functional processes required.
- Understanding of end to end business process from planning through execution.
- Knowledge of internal SGWS applications/system required (e.g., Business Objects, HANA, SalesNav, Compass, Tableau, NSM, E2Open).
- Strong working knowledge of wine & spirits state regulations & customer segmentation.
- Strong working knowledge of SGWS product & divisional portfolios, RTM hierarchies & alignment.
- Experience with planning tools and multi-project environments.
- Strong analytical and problem solving / decision-making skills. Ability to use models to optimize decision making.
- Microsoft Office proficiency required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field required, graduate degree preferred.
