Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our unionized warehouse operations (union and non-union). The HRBP will serve as a trusted advisor to warehouse leadership, ensuring alignment between business objectives and HR strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of labor relations, employee engagement, and compliance in a unionized environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide organizational development support; work with business teams and functions to understand current and future business goals and trends that may impact workforce needs and initiative
  • Engage with business leaders on people strategy and how to effectively deliver through workforce planning and organization design and structure
  • Acts as an effective change agent in an environment of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Develop knowledge and skills to be able to reinforce the SGWS culture with leaders and employees
  • Identify training needs and facilitate learning opportunities
  • Present solutions to issues in a concise manner to varying levels of leadership using insights based on analytics along with sound business acumen
  • Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, and development and succession plans
  • Partner with union representatives to foster a collaborative working relationship
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of polices
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience or equivalent education and related experience

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects through full lifecycle (design, develop, implement) and deliver impactful results
  • Ability to travel: 15-20% throughout the State of Florida
  • Ability to demonstrate managerial courage by taking the opportunity to constructively challenge conventional thinking and respectfully challenge the opinions of others

  • Proven success in implementing core talent management processes
  • Demonstrate the ability to quickly, effectively, and consistently execute
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Confidence interacting at all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws/regulations including Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments (ADAA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Worker's Compensation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of latest version of Microsoft Office, SAP software.
  • Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
  • Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and software applications related to job functions
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills
  • Experience working in union environment
  • Experience supporting remote locations
  • Ability to work on a warehouse setting with regular interaction on the floor
  • Ability to ride with logistics team members on their route
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule as needed

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
