Overview

The Commercial Strategy Analyst (Inside Sales) plays a critical role in supporting the Inside Sales organization by delivering actionable insights, managing dashboards and tracking tools, and driving reporting excellence. This position partners closely with the Inside Sales Director of Commercial Strategy to optimize sales performance, streamline reporting processes, evaluate route-to-market strategies, and enable data-driven decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting Execution & Route-to-Market (RTM) Analysis

  • Deliver timely and accurate insights for Inside Sales leadership and key SGWS stakeholders.
  • Conduct RTM analysis to evaluate sales strategies, coverage models, and overall effectiveness.
  • Support the development and measurement of KPIs for Inside Sales initiatives.
  • Analyze data available to anticipate potential issues & proactively model potential solutions.
  • Create ad-hoc queries and reports as requested and provide on-going analytical support for leadership requests.

 

Dashboard Creation, Maintenance & Updates

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards to track sales performance, incentives, orders, and program results.
  • Ensure dashboards are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to the needs of Inside Sales leadership and sales teams.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve dashboard functionality and user experience.

 

Program & Incentive Support

  • Assist with program and incentive support, including coordinating updates, monitoring progress, and communicating results to leadership.
  • Partner with CI and Trade Development teams to ensure alignment on program objectives and reporting requirements.
  • Responsibilities may evolve as certain functions transition to CI and Trade Development teams.

 

SPP Objective Planning

  • Support SPP objective planning by assisting in goal calculation and alignment in collaboration with Trade Development.
  • Provide analytical input and oversight to ensure objectives are data-driven and achievable.

 

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with Inside Sales, Commercial Strategy, and Operations teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Prepare materials, reports, and insights for stakeholder meetings and program reviews.
  • Champion best practices in reporting, documentation, and data integrity.

 

Onboarding & Knowledge Transfer

  • Support onboarding processes by managing tools and resources.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer through office hours, meetings, and training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in a business analyst, commercial strategy, or sales analytics role.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Business Objects, Excel, and other BI/reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting Structure

This role reports directly to the Director of Commercial Strategy – Inside Sales.

Physical Demands

  • Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
  • Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
  • May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
