Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with a yearly compensation of $95,000- $115,000 plus incentives. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.
Overview
We are seeking a highly technical, detail-oriented Cognos Analyst to support the development and maintenance of enterprise Supply Chain Intelligence (SCI) reporting and analytics solutions. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable reporting solutions using IBM Cognos Analytics and SQL against data warehouse sources. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into performant, accurate, and actionable BI solutions. This role emphasizes strong Cognos and SQL development skills
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain SCI reports and dashboards in IBM Cognos Analytics (v11.x or newer)
- Create complex reports, dashboards, and data models to visualize supply chain KPIs and operational metrics.
- Conduct data exploration and profiling using complex T-SQL across large data sets (SQL Server, Netezza, Oracle)
- Perform source-to-target mapping and build solutions against dimensional models (Kimball methodology)
- Troubleshoot, resolve, and document data quality and report performance issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical report specifications.
- Perform unit testing, QA support, and UAT coordination for new report development and enhancement projects.
- Participate in Cognos version upgrades, deployments, and testing across development, QA, and production environments.
- Support reporting environments (Cognos, SSRS) and assist with real-time reporting needs via replicated databases.
- Contribute to report branding standards, naming conventions, and performance tuning practices.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Experience with Cognos administration and upgrade projects (e.g., 11.1.7 → 11.2.4)
- Familiarity with SCI tools within Manhattan Associates or similar WMS platforms
- Experience with Motio, NetVisn, Azure DevOps, or JIRA for report lifecycle management
- Exposure to Tableau or Power BI for dashboarding in hybrid-reporting environments
- Experience with supply chain analytics
- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving capability
- Precision and attention to data quality, edge cases, and exception handling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Collaborative mindset for cross-functional projects
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience with IBM Cognos Analytics (v11.x and above)
- Expert-level SQL development skills across relational database platforms (MS SQL Server, Netezza, Oracle)
- Experience with ETL tools such as SSIS or IBM DataStage
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and BI best practices
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, building BRDs, and working with stakeholders in Agile environments
- Proven ability to create enterprise-grade reports, dashboards, and visualizations from complex data sets
