Overview
The Sales Executive develops and implements sales strategies, tactics, and marketing plans for the sale of SGWS products in assigned accounts which may be on-premise and off-premise. This role also monitors the execution of customer programming, promotions, and pricing strategies to ensure the attainment of goals and objectives and work with Suppliers and SGWS State Management to develop/execute account-specific sales and marketing plans.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage all facets of Shaw-Ross’ business in the Central Region duties include but are not limited to: educating distributor sales teams, pricing evaluation and recommendations, supporting and implementing programs developed by Shaw-Ross’ marketing department, achieving depletion and shipment goals and managing personal T & E budget.
- Initiate, develop, and implement brand pricing for areas of responsibility.
- Mentor employees direct reports to build relationships, influence key decision makers, and increase overall success of the customer while gaining market value
- Recruit, select, orient, and train employees; coach, counsel and manage employees
- Work with Shaw-Ross executives and suppliers executive to balance priorities and determine market strategies
- Manage distributors in the Central Region which functions include but are not limited to: Distributor profitability, brand pricing to accounts base, create and implement executive and sales incentives; create and implement brand programming, review depletions, shipments, accounts sold and monthly goals. Work with distributor executive management and sales personnel in the field to determine the brand’s health and their place in the market.
- Strict adherence to brand budgets and future forecasting of budget dollars.
- Communicate, motivate, and educate distributor management executives and sales reps to sell and focus on Shaw-Ross products.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Create relationships with and nurture large retail accounts, small chain, and on-premise accounts in the states of the Central Region in addition, sell in new items and program current items in the retail trade. Create, develop an implement off and on-premise brand promotions.
- Monthly review of brand inventory in each market.
- Quarterly review of brand spoils and damaged packaging in each market.
- Prepare monthly reports (depletions and shipments, promotional calendars, industry overview, etc.) and send to managing director.
- When required, create and prepare distributor reviews outling brand depletions, accounts sold, percentage of increase, goals and brand budgets.
- Provide regular coaching on skills, process and policies, coach staff to develop their own solutions. Provides timely, direct and honest feedback to staff.
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field plus 20 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advance computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Products-Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook & SAP familiarity
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- 10 years of demonstrated management experience
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of people at all levels in the organization
- Comprehensive understanding of multiple wine & spirit brands to include regions/varietals, product/food paring techniques, basic production, and service .
- Strong and established relationships with distributors in the Central states
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs little direction or supervision
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and current insurance
- Must carry auto insurance, $100,000/$300,000 in vehicle liability and $50,000 in property damage and be listed
